What are Mobile Patrols?
Mobile patrols are designed to give you a physical and regular security presence on your site.
The officer will arrive at your site in a branded security vehicle and will patrol key points of your building and grounds to ensure all is in order. This means that any potentially vulnerable areas of your site can be regularly checked and your overall security is improved. Mobile Patrols are a visual deterrent meaning that any undesirables in your area will soon realise that the premises are regularly visited making your site less attractive to potential vandals and thieves. Furthermore patrols are random and never form a pattern so nobody can predict when the next one will be.
So is it like a traditional manned guard?
In many ways yes. A manned guard will normally have a base at your site in which they will sit, patrolling periodically. The main difference with mobile patrols is that instead of returning to an office or station point at the end of a patrol the mobile patrol officer will visit another customer’s site after your patrol. We call this timeshare and it means you only actually pay for the officer’s time whilst they are actually patrolling your site, not sitting waiting for the next time to patrol. This makes mobile patrols the most cost effective method of having your business regularly checked.
Do I really need them?
For many customers mobile patrols have proven a convenient and cost effective method of reducing problems such as:
- Break ins
- Theft of valuable metals and fuel
- Theft of IT equipment
- Vehicle Theft
Mobile Patrols are normally chosen by businesses who are conscious of the impact that a lack of business continuity could have on their operations and are keen to trade in a safe manner every day.
How many should I have?
We suggest that the minimum number of mobile patrols you should consider having are two per evening. This ensures that we can generate a random pattern of visits. Except in special circumstances we do not normally recommend that a site contracts us for more than 6 random patrols during a 12 hour (normally night) period. If you cannot decide how many patrols your site needs please contact us and we will be happy to advise you based on your sites individual risks.
